Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Program

Program Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have either a high school diploma or GED.
  • Are currently and have been a CNA for at least 6 months with work experience.
    • With no abuse notations.
    • Listed on the Oklahoma nurse aide registry.

What You’ll Learn

As a CMA student, you will learn how to:

  • Administer medications safely.
  • Classify medications and the appropriate measures to take to ensure safe handling and storing of medications and much more!

First Step Healthcare’s CMA course is
Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
Evening class is 5:00pm – 9:00pm 

CMA  Day Course runs for 10 days (56 hours).

Evening Course runs for 12 evenings (56hours)

The CMA class  includes 40 hours of classroom learning and 16 hours of clinical hands-on learning by passing medications to residents at  a LTC (nursing home). For a total of 56 hours. Upon completion of the course the student will be given a course completion certificate and a training verification form.

After the student has passed the CMA Course, they are eligible to take the state test.

State CMA test is NOT included in the tuition. The cost of this test is $43.50

  • The cost of the tuition including the state test is $418.50

We require a non refundable sign up fee of $100.00. $275.00 is due by the end of the course.

Tuition assistance is available through Workforce or Tribal Nations for students who qualify.
